DMA was engaged to sell our unique maintenance business in late 2023. At the time I had not previously had any exposure to selling a business, nor understood the complexity of the negotiations and transaction that would take place. When I first received DMA’s estimated fee to complete the purchase my initial reaction was there was no way DMA could provide that much value. Over the next 2 years I was to learn how wrong I was! Michael Yared, Tony Brown and their capable team worked tirelessly to firstly provide a professional IM and then market the business to their huge database, at all times keeping us up to date with the status of potential purchasers and their marketing campaigns. Their efforts quickly created more than 5 offers to purchase the business in a short time. Unfortunately, the first potential purchaser we chose fell over due to finance late in the negotiations, leaving everyone feeling a little dejected considering how much time had been devoted to the sale at that stage. During the extended DD and negotiation period, DMA provided quality advice and showed technical competence in dealing with our chosen solicitors and accountants, constantly keeping the negotiation on track when it threatened to run aground on a few occasions. Michael Yared in particular was amazing, especially in the later part of the negotiations when I would speak to him up to 5 times a day. He was always available to provide sage advice and ALWAYS returned my call, even on late nights and weekends. I can honestly say that the fee we were invoiced by DMA following the successful sale was in my opinion a fair reflection of the work DMA committed to our business sale, and I can thoroughly recommend them to other owners considering selling their business.
